The 2019 WINONArts series of free creative events celebrates Fall with a Floating Concert featuring the unique sounds of Loud Mouth Brass, the jazz ensemble from Rochester, MN. Choose to sit on the banks of the lake or paddle out to hear the music. What could be more fun than hearing great music in one of the most beautiful settings in the entire Midwest?
Your ears will smile and your boat while rock when you hear Loud Mouth Brass. With a splash of New Orleans and a pinch of pop music, Loud Mouth Brass has a tasty musical recipe. While the band’s instrumental arrangements of music spanning the gamut from The Jackson Five to Fall Out Boy will make your feet get the urge to dance, with several originals in the mix, this brassy band still makes sure to keep things fresh. From the top of its blue sousaphone to the bottom of its thumping bass drum, this band exudes fun. The band’s line up consists of Becca Combs-Cawley (sousaphone), Zach Sander (tenor sax), Eric Stasheck (bari sax), Jon Knutson (trumpet), Nick Novotny (drum set), and John Sievers (trombone). Don’t hesitate to get a little excited because Loud Mouth Brass won’t mind.
Lake Lodge will have special access to their fleet of kayaks and canoes free of charge and first come first served starting at 3:30pm in honor of the concert, or you can launch your own boats from any of a number of spots all around the Big East Lake. The Floating concerts can also be enjoyed from the shore.
