Clay Workshops with Anne Scott Plummer

Anne Scott Plummer, a retired WSU Art Professor, is offering a series of eight Clay Workshops this winter and spring through WAPS Community Education. Each three-hour workshop has a different focus, including Creating Ceramic Tiles, Making Textured Ceramic Bowls, Clay Slab Mug Making, Clay Mask-making, Creating a Lidded Container, Sculpting a Clay Wall Relief, Creating a Ceramic Utility Jar, and Sculpting a Functional Face Mug.  Participants pick up clay and tools at Anne’s storefront studio, Island City Clayspace, and with live Zoom instruction, create one or more clay projects, working at home. You bring the finished work back to the studio where it is bisque-fired, glazed, and glaze-fired. You pick up the fired work in about a week!

In addition to providing detailed instructions for each project, Anne offers feedback on your work-in-progress via Zoom. This a great opportunity to learn new techniques for working with clay, create some unique projects, and get your hands dirty! Suitable for beginners and those who already have skills and experience with clay. Each workshop has a fee of $20 and a materials fee of $15.
