2021 RAA Member Exhibit and Showcase
To all River Arts Alliance Members:
We’re excited to invite you to participate in the 2021 RAA Virtual Member Exhibit and Showcase! This year, because the event is virtual, we are able to include audio and video clips, poems and excerpts as well as the usual visual artworks. Writers and artists producing music, dance, theatre, film and other performance art will be showcased along with visual artists!
The virtual show will open March 1st. The exhibit will be set up in the form of an online book and each artist will have their own page. It will also be available as a printable .pdf and we are exploring the possibility of making printed copies available for sale. We will explain more about it at our Annual Meeting on January 27th.
You will need to submit high quality photos, video, or audio of up to three recent pieces (produced within the past two years). In addition, you will supply basic information: Artist’s name, Title, Year, Medium, Dimensions (when applicable), whether or not your work is for sale, and contact information (or personal website) for sales. We encourage all artists to provide a brief Artist’s Statement (one paragraph) for the group of 1-3 works you are submitting, as well as a short Artist’s Bio and a headshot or photo of you in your studio. These help viewers understand your art and appreciate it in greater depth. Files are due to RAA by February 1st.
Artists are responsible for handling their own sales, or you may exhibit work that is not for sale. RAA will be promote the exhibit and takes no commission on any sales—the Member Exhibit and Showcase is one of the benefits of your membership. I have two and a half paintings ready — but according to what was said last night during the RAA annual meeting would like to enter these three with the promise to complete the 3rd by the time you decide you want them.
If you know anyone who could photograph these works print resolution quality I would appreciate having their information.
