Upcoming RAA & MMAM artsXchange Gatherings in 2022

UPDATE 12/14/22: Please note that the artsXchange with Eileen Moeller has been rescheduled from December 17, 2022, to January 21, 2023.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on July 19 for the first artsXchange event, a new collaboration between River Arts Alliance (RAA) and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM). These informal gatherings, hosted by different RAA members each month, are intended as an opportunity for artists and creatives from across a variety of mediums to gather for inspiration, exploration and exchange at the museum; visit mmam.org/artsxchange to learn more. On July 19, ceramist and RAA board member Anne Scott Plummer led the group in considering the meaning of form.

Upcoming artsXchanges, to be held monthly for the remainder of 2022, will be as follows:

Tuesday, August 16, 5:30-7 pm, a discussion and writing opportunity led by writer Terri Karsten.

Saturday, September 24, 10-11:30 am, a discussion led by painter Joan Porter-Einsman.

Saturday, October 22, 10-11:30 am, a discussion on community connection through art, led by Carrie Frederich.

Saturday, November 19, 10-11:30 am, a discussion led by stained glass artist Melissa Janda.

Saturday, January 21, 2023, 10-11:30 am, a discussion led by Eileen Moeller, Managing Director of the Frozen River Film Festival. (Rescheduled from December 17.)

Please watch for additional information closer to the date of each event. All artsXchanges will be held at MMAM, 800 Riverview Dr., Winona, and are free for members of RAA or MMAM, and free with general museum admission for all others.

We also hope to continue this program in 2023 and beyond. If you are interested in leading a future artsXchange as an RAA individual or organizational member, please contact Arts Administrator Johanna Rupprecht at admin@riverartsalliance.org.
