With special guest Dr. Rachel Haug, Flutistry will perform a benefit concert at Old Main on Sunday, December 4th at 3pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and free for high school and under. The proceeds from this concert will help bring flutist Iva Ugrcic and pianist Satoko Hayami back for their fourth concert at Old Main on March 11.

Flutistry is a Winona flute ensemble that has been playing together since 2011. It is made up of three founding members, Dr. Janet Heukeshoven, Arlene Boll, and Heidi Bryant, along with Amanda Wenzel who joined in 2017. The group performs a wide variety of music on different combinations of flute, piccolo, and alto and bass flutes. This December concert will also feature a few familiar holiday selections.

Dr. Rachel Haug, a Winona native and honorary member of Flutistry, will join the group for this special concert. After earning her DMA in flute performance from The Ohio State University, Dr. Haug returned to Minnesota where she is the flute instructor at Winona State University, principal flutist for the Winona Symphony Orchestra (WSO), and the Director of Flute Sales for Schmitt Music. She has previously performed with Flutistry for the WSO annual event at Elmaro and at Upper Midwest Flute Association events.

Old Main Cultural Center, Heidi Bryant, and Janet Heukeshoven are members of the River Arts Alliance. To learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit: riverartsalliance.org/membership/.
