The Winona Community Chorale proudly presents “Songs for a River Town.” Come enjoy a concert featuring music from well-known choral arrangers as well as music by Billy Joel, Simon & Garfunkel, the Doobie Brothers, and more! The concerts will take place Friday, May 19, at 7 pm, and Saturday, May 20, at 2 pm, at Central Lutheran Church in downtown Winona.

The Winona Community Chorale is a group of area vocalists under the direction of Kurt Speltz. They hope to build an ongoing, multi-generational, community choir with a wide variety of musical genres to celebrate the end of isolation and the joy of making music together.

Their first concert titled “Songs for a River Town” will celebrate Winona’s long and rich heritage as a beautiful city along the banks of the Mississippi River, including favorites like “Down to the River to Pray,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “River of Dreams,” and even a few sea shanties thrown in for fun. There is no fee for the concert but a free will offering will be taken to help cover costs.
