Family Art Day Volunteers Needed: Friday & Saturday

Family Art Day horizontal graphic.

Family Art Day, River Arts Alliance’s biggest annual event, is coming up next Saturday, September 2! At this free event, kids and families of all ages can try out a wide variety of arts activities at stations led by local artists. Family Art Day is located at the Jaycee Pavilion in Lake Park, Winona.

We can still use a few more volunteers to help make sure the event is a success. Opportunities to help out and roles are as follows:

Set-up on Friday, Sept. 1
Help move and arrange picnic tables in and next to the pavilion. Help set up RAA’s 16′ x 32′ tent near the pavilion. Time is to be determined and is flexible – let us know when you’d be available!

Saturday, Sept. 2
Event morning set-up, approx. 7:30-10:00 am: Set up smaller canopies, folding chairs, & signage; cover tables; etc.
During event, 10:00 am-2:00 pm (all or part of this time):
– Welcome table: greet participants, hand out attendance stickers, etc.
– Assist artists: help an artist at their activity station throughout the event or be a floating volunteer available to monitor a station while the artist in charge takes a break.
Post-event takedown, 2:00-approx. 4:00 pm: Help with general takedown and clean-up after the event ends.

If you’d like to volunteer, please contact RAA Arts Administrator Johanna Rupprecht at admin@riverartsalliance.org or 320-305-4096. Thank you!

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
