Winona based artist Sharon Mansur and her creative platform The Cedar Tree Project are engaged in several special events at the upcoming Frozen River Film Festival: frff.org
FILM SET: Blurring Borders: Cinema & Home
Co-curated by Mizna’s Arab Film Festival curator Michelle Baroody and Sharon Mansur, and showcasing Arab and SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African) artists and filmmakers, this set of short films challenges documentary form as well as common narratives/images of immigration and displacement. Followed by a discussion with Michelle, Sharon and Minneapolis based artist Andrea Shaker, Saturday, February 10 at 12:30 pm at the Winona Arts Center, with an online viewing option Feb 11-21.

A choreo-essay film between Lebanese American artists Sharon Mansur and Meryl Zaytoun Murman. Included in the Blurring Borders film set, Saturday, February 10 at 12:30 pm, and online Feb 11-21.
WORKSHOP: Home/Place: Creating films about home, family & ancestry. A companion to the Blurring Borders film set, this workshop facilitated by Sharon Mansur invites participants to engage in a creative process to develop a short film study reflecting their sense of home, place and belonging as well as scattering and letting go. Free admission, register in advance to attend Sunday, February 11 at 11 am, in person only.
