Winona County History Center Hosts “History is Present” Party

The Winona County History Center invites the public to an incredible evening at the History Is Present capital campaign event! Join in the fun on Friday, April 12, 7:00 to 10:00 pm, at the Winona County History Center in Winona, Minnesota.

First, members of the Winona County Historical Society are invited to gather for the 89th annual meeting on April 12 at 6:00 pm. Hear about what has been happening, future plans, vote in new board members, and then enjoy the Campaign Launch Party following the meeting. Members receive a free drink ticket! Not a member? Join today by stopping in, calling, or going online.

The History Center is on a mission to elevate the museum to new heights with a fundraising goal of $2,250,000! Your support will help enhance the historic Armory building, create new exhibits, ensure inclusivity, and create an engaging museum experience for all.

Everyone is welcome to the free party at 7 pm! Grab your Museum Passport at the door and embark on an adventure through the exhibits, Laird Norton Library and Archives, and collections vault to learn more about the exciting projects. Collect activity stamps along the way to win awesome prizes!

But wait, the excitement doesn’t stop there! Get ready for a thrilling auction starting at 8:00 PM. Bid on amazing items including one carat diamond earrings, a guided paddling excursion, a gourmet French dinner, sports tickets, original artwork, and more! Then raise your bidding number to donate announced amounts ranging from $25 to $1000. Let’s see how much we can raise together in just a few minutes!

Indulge in delicious food from Steak Shop Catering, sip on cocktails from Muddled Thyme at the cash bar, mingle with fellow supporters in the Slaggie Family Lobby, and tap your toes to live music performed by Patina, a lively local Irish music group.

The Winona County History Center is open daily 10 am – 4 pm at 160 Johnson St. in downtown Winona, Minnesota. Call 507.454.2723 or log on to winonahistory.org to find more!
