A new art show at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse will feature original oil paintings by Angie Malin. This show will run from May 10 through Sunday, June 16, 2024, with an opening reception for the artist on Friday, May 10, from 5-7 pm. The reception is free and open to the public, with light refreshments provided.

The artist says, “I have lived in the Midwest my entire life which has given me an appreciation for the changing landscape from season to season. Plein Air painting, painting outdoors from life, is my preferred way to paint. This manner of painting captures my reaction to the authenticity and peace found in nature and I am most inspired by the paths through a scene that are created by light and shapes. These smaller studies are done quickly and may have little imperfections but are full of life and expression. If there is anything further to explore or figure out, I bring the study and my memories of the experience into the studio to create a larger painting. Through painting my goal is to share the connection I feel to the natural world and to bring beauty and peace to the viewers for a brief escape from their busy lives.” Learn more at www.angiemalin.com.
