Watershed: New, Juried Art Exhibition Open for Entries Through July 15
Watershed, a new, juried visual art exhibition sponsored by River Arts Alliance (RAA), is currently open for submissions from artists living within 150 miles of Winona, Minnesota. Entries may be submitted online at watershedraa2024.artcall.org until 11:59 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024. Artworks selected for inclusion by the juror will be exhibited at the Winona County History Center’s Slaggie Family Lobby Art Gallery from August 23 through November 17, 2024.
Serving as the juror for Watershed is Nicole Soukup, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Ms. Soukup is the Coordinator of the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program in the Department of Global Contemporary Art at Mia. Throughout her curatorial practice, she seeks to bridge local communities with global perspectives.
The juror will select several top artworks as winners of the following awards and prize money: First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), and Honorable Mention(s) ($50). Winners will be announced at an opening reception on Friday, August 23.
There is no required theme or subject matter for the Watershed exhibition. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual artworks by artists living within the entry radius may be submitted. Visual arts media accepted include painting, drawing, printmaking, digital art, photography, collage, sculpture (such as wood, metal, stone, glass, ceramic, mixed media, etc.), ceramics, textile, stained glass, jewelry, and more. Artists may enter up to three artworks per person. For non-members of RAA, one piece may be entered for $12, two pieces for $18 and three pieces for $24. Current RAA members may enter one piece for $10, two pieces for $15 and three pieces for $20. To enter, artists must submit photos of their artwork(s) and required information through the ArtCall.org online platform. Entrants will be notified on August 1, 2024 whether their work has been selected for inclusion in the exhibition.
