John Paulson Jazz Trio To Perform in Lake City

The Lake City Area Arts organization plans to heat up your winter with some great jazz by the John Paulson Jazz Trio January 11th at 7:00 pm. The concert will take place at the beautiful Lake City Arts Center, 105 W Center Street, and it is open to the public. The group will be playing well known jazz standards and originals. There is a $15 suggested donation to cover expenses.
John C. Paulson got his B.M and M.M from the University of Utah and his DMA in music education from the University of Washington. He’s played sax for over 60 years and has a passion for flute and jazz improvisation. For the LCAA performance, John will be joined by Twin Cities guitarist Scott Gerry and Rochester area bassist Michael Sloane — both well known throughout the SE Minnesota region for their beautiful sound, great technique, and swinging solos. Scott is active in the Minneapolis music scene and has a B.A. in guitar performance and music business from Saint Mary’s University. Michael Sloane studied jazz with the famed recording artist Ellis Marsalis, has a B.S. in music education from Virginian Commonwealth University, and currently directs the high school orchestra in Faribault, MN.
