River Arts Alliance (RAA) has announced it will coordinate music and arts activities in partnership with organizers of the Mid West Music Fest. RAA will showcase musicians, visual artists, and provide makers workshop activities on location at the Engage Winona space (119 E 3rd St) from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, May 10.

The lineup of entertainment and activities at the Engage Winona space will include opportunities for Festivalgoers and community members of all ages to participate and enjoy. Local musicians will perform live during designated times throughout the day, including Frank and Ruth Bures on clarinet, and The Adesso Duo featuring violinists Joel Zebel and Olivia White.

Makers workshop activities for youth and adults are also planned for the day. Winona-based photographer Pete Mutschler and Stillwater, MN poet Tom Gillaspy will guide participants through the creative process known as Ekphrasis – pairing a visual work of art with poetry to create a unique artistic expression through the combined mediums.

RAA will also coordinate opportunities for local visual artists who are RAA members to present their work on the gallery walls at the Engage Winona space. Selected artists will have the opportunity to present their work in the gallery throughout the month of May.

An interactive sidewalk chalk art activity for children of all ages will also take place throughout the day (weather permitting) immediately outside the Engage Winona offices.
