WSU CHOIRS RETURN APRIL 26
Home and Sacred Spaces
This concert will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 pm. It explores the spaces in our lives that bring us comfort, safety, and solace – in our physical homes, faith communities, our cities, nations, and planet, our bodies, and beyond. Along with a musical celebration of poignant and historical works, the repertoire will also invite us to consider how we can work together to help create and celebrate homes and sacred spaces for those around us.
The concert will include works by Salamone Rossi, Dale Trumbore, Giovanni P. Palestrina, Moira Smiley, Lajos Bárdos, and feature “At Home,” a multi-movement work by Minnesota-based composer Tim Takach. We hope you will join us for a wonderful evening of choral music! The concert is free and open to all.
UKRANIAN BENEFIT CONCERT APRIL 27
From Ukraine with Love
On Sunday April 27 at 3 pm, the Szlubowska-Belsky Duo will present From Ukraine with Love, a concert by Ukrainian composers for violin and piano. All proceeds from a free will offering will be directed to the UN Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
Critically acclaimed and internationally renowned in their individual careers, violinist Marta Szlubowska and pianist Svetlana Belsky unite to explore the great masterpieces of violin and piano repertoire, as well as lesser-known works of Polish and Ukrainian composers.
Recent performances by the duo include concerts in Chicago, Mississippi, and Alabama. “Stunningly beautiful,” “Virtuosity,” and “Moments of intense beauty,” are just a sample of what reviewers have written about the duo.
