Learn the basics of how to make short promotional videos of yourself and your work using your iPhone or iPad to share online. You will get tips about lighting, content, framing, and editing using iMovie. Sydney Swanson has been a photographer for over a decade and has added more videography work as the years go on. Her primary focus with video is dance filmmaking and her work has been shown at the Frozen River Film Festival in Winona, MN. Sydney also created informational videos of 16 artists for the hybrid online/in-person Bluff Country Studio Art Tour in 2021.

Note: This workshop will contain helpful tips for anyone getting started taking videos of themselves and their work, but the editing software that will be talked about will be iMovie (available on Apple phones and tablets).

Free and open to the public. Please fill out this form to register; a link for the Zoom meeting will be sent to registered participants before the workshop.

This event is the fourth in a series of Zoom workshops presented by River Arts Alliance, designed to help artists learn skills and tools for selling their artwork online. Video recordings of the previous workshops (focused on marketing on social media, online sales using Square, and photographing works of art) are available to view here.
