2024 Winona Art Walk and Tour

Registration is now open for artists in Winona and the surrounding area to participate in the 24th Annual Winona Art Walk & Tour. Tour dates are Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Registration deadline is Friday, November 1, 2024 at 5:00 pm in order to be included in all publicity materials. Artists may participate either at their home, studio, or another location they arrange, or at a group site located at the Winona Arts Center (limited spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis). Galleries or businesses selling locally made art from multiple artists may also participate in the Art Walk.
Previous Art Walk participants will be automatically accepted. New participants are subject to approval based on the images and description of your artwork provided in the form below.
Publicity for the Art Walk & Tour includes:
- Images of your work & artist statement/bio featured in online gallery book prior to the tour (provide content in form below). See example of last year’s book here.
- Full list of participants publicized in:
- Winona Post newspaper ad
- Posters distributed around Winona
- Postcards distributed around Winona (copies provided to artists to mail out if desired)
- Press release sent out in week prior to event
- Online tour map listing all artists/locations.
- Official Art Walk yard sign(s) provided to you to put up at your location during the event.
- Each artist featured on Winona Art Walk & River Arts Alliance social media pages in the days leading up to the event.
- Facebook event page & ad for overall event.
If you would like copies of the poster and/or postcards provided to you to distribute, please indicate quantity in the form below. Up to 40 postcards and 3 posters per participant are included in the fee.
Fee Structure for 2024
Fees must be paid prior to the start of the tour and can be paid by check to River Arts Alliance, PO Box 992, Winona, MN, 55987, or online using PayPal to treasurer@riverartsalliance.org.
$75 – RAA member, individual artist at your own location
$85 – RAA member, individual artist at WAC group site
$95 – RAA member, gallery or business
$85 – Non-member, individual artist at your own location
$95 – Non-member, individual artist at WAC group site
$105 – Non-member, gallery or business
$25 – Emerging Artist (subject to approval, see below)
Art Walk participant fees primarily cover the publicity for the tour. Being an RAA member is not required for participation, but is encouraged in recognition of RAA’s additional administrative costs of putting on this event.
Group Site Information
Up to seven spaces are available at the Winona Arts Center (WAC) group site, located in the upper-floor gallery at 228 E 5th St. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The site will be open for artist set-up from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, and again starting at 8:00 am on Friday, November 22. Takedown hours are Saturday evening beginning at 5:00 pm or, if needed, Sunday, November 24 from 8:00 to 11:00 am. Spaces will be assigned and marked. Artists should plan to bring all items needed to set up their booth (tables, display walls or panels, shelving, etc). Chairs will be provided. A limited number of WAC tables may be available (first-come, first-served). Please watch for follow-up information if registering for a WAC group site space.
Emerging Artists
A limited number of emerging artists may be allowed to participate in the Art Walk for a reduced fee of $25 (for RAA members or non-members, at the group site or an individual location), subject to RAA Board approval. Emerging artists must be first-time Art Walk participants and should be fairly new to producing and/or marketing their artwork. If you believe you may qualify as an emerging artist, please complete the form below and send an email describing your situation to admin@riverartsalliance.org with the subject line “Emerging Artist Application.”
Local Authors' Table
At the Winona Arts Center group site this year, we will have a shared table featuring books for sale by local authors. The fee to participate will be $10 for RAA member authors and $15 for non-members. Participating authors will not need to be present for the entire tour, but will be encouraged to take a shift at this table. Interested authors do not need to fill out the application form below -- instead, contact RAA Board Chair Terri Karsten at wagonbridgepub@gmail.com to sign up or for more information.
