Catch the World Premiere of Beneath the Ice

The Frozen River Festival will be making history this year with the World Premiere of FRFF’s self-produced documentary, Beneath the Ice: The Frozen River Film Festival Story. This special film, over two years in the making, captures the unique connection between the Winona community and the festival’s 20-year journey of showcasing diverse perspectives and compelling narratives.

The premiere takes place on Saturday, February 15, at 7:00 pm in the Science Laboratory Center (SLC) 120 on the Winona State University campus. Producer Danielle Schwartz shares, “While making Beneath the Ice, we discovered that the festival plays an important role in the Winona community, and at the same time, there would be no festival without the community’s support. That kind of symbiotic relationship is a really beautiful part of Winona’s history.”

Additional film features and events will be presented February 9 – 16 at designated locations throughout Winona including Winona State University, Saint Mary’s University, the Winona Arts Center, and the Winona County Historical Society.
