Frozen River Film Festival

Join us for Flow (2024), a stunning animated feature from award-winning Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis (Away). Told entirely without dialogue, Flow follows a courageous cat whose home is destroyed by a massive flood. Setting out on a wondrous journey through natural and mystical realms, the cat teams up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land. Together, they must rely on trust, courage, and their wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet. Created in Blender with breathtaking visuals and a moving original score, Flow is both a thrilling adventure and a profound meditation on environmental fragility, friendship, and community. A feast for the senses and a treasure for the heart, it’s a visual storytelling experience you won’t forget.

Winner of Best Animated Feature at the 97th Academy Awards & the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature.

Concessions and FRFF swag are available for purchase.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
