CENTRAL’S BACH CELEBRATION GRAND FINALE

Free organ recitals, a hilarious play, can it get any better. Yes!
For its final week, Central Lutheran’s Bach celebration will feature the third free organ recital and the annual return an amazing chamber orchestra. Daniel Lewis, Director of Music at St. Martin’s Church in Winona, will present the third and final free organ recital from noon to 1 pm.
Selections on the program will include a wide array of Bach’s finest compositions:
- Trio Sonata No. 1 in Eb Major, BWV 525
- Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland, BWV 661 (Leipzig Chorale)
- Vom Himmel Hoch (Orgelbüchlein)
- In Dir ist Freude (Orgelbüchlein)
- O Lamme Gottes (Orgelbüchlein)
- Valet will ich dir geben, BWV 736
- Christ Lag in Todesbanden (Orgelbüchlein)
- Komm Gott Schöpfer, BWV 667 (Leipzig Chorale)
- Prelude and Fugue in Eb Major, BWV 552 “St. Anne”
Concluding this remarkable celebration will be the return of the Bach Society of Minnesota.
On Fri., Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. this outstanding chamber group will present “Vivaldi on Fire”. The
concert features beguiling music by Antonio Vivaldi – the “Red Priest” – a mad genius of
virtuosity, craziness, and boundless fun. How does Vivaldi fit into a Bach festival? Come to
the concert and find out! General admission is $25, and students get in for only $5 – tickets
available online and at the door. You won’t want to miss the festival finale!
