Yalla Drum Performance

Yalla Drum is a community Arabic percussion ensemble based in Minneapolis and presented by New Arab American Theater Works. The ensemble brings together people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels to learn, preserve, and share the rich rhythmic traditions of the Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) region through performance, education, and community engagement. Following their 5pm performance there will be a closing reception at 6pm for the “Why We Record: Defying Fragmentation and Erasure in Palestine” exhibit at WSU’s Watkins Gallery, on the first floor of Watkins Hall.
