AMERICAN NOMAD – TRUMPET & ORGAN CONCERT

Acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra and former Canadian Brass trumpeter Charles Lazarus teams up with organist and former Director of the National Lutheran Choir, David Cherwien for an afternoon of exciting and virtuosic music making. The free concert takes place at Central Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
At the center of the genre-jumping performance by the will be American Nomad, a classical/jazz hybrid concerto for trumpet written by Emmy Award-winning composer, Steve Heitzeg. The program will include selections from Lazarus’ latest recording of modern takes on hymns and spirituals along with Cherwien / Lazarus originals and classical favorites.
The performance is free and open to all. Cash and check donations to support the Winona Overnight and Day Shelter will be gratefully accepted.
