The Winona Arts Center (228 E 5th St) is pleased to present Climate Sensitive Birds of Southeast Minnesota, an exhibition featuring the work of Barbara Schwenk. The exhibit will run from March 22 to April 26, 2026, with an opening reception on Sunday, March 22, from 1-4pm. There will be an artist talk at 1:30pm, followed by the third of Seven Sundays: An Art & Music Series at WAC, which includes a live performance on guitar by local musician Brian Ebbinger from 2:00-3:30pm. Gallery hours are Saturdays & Sundays 1-4pm. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art and serves as the art competition coordinator and consulting board member for the Med City Art Festival in Rochester. Barbara’s deep interest in birds inspired this project. Her paintings focus on raising awareness about climate-sensitive birds. She has selected ten birds from southeast Minnesota that are familiar to the audience. This project is made possible through generous funding from the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC).
