The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) in Winona, MN, will kick off its 2025 Mississippi Sippin’ Concert Series on Thursday, June 5, from 5-8 pm. The first concert of the summer will feature the Annie Mack Band, performing a live set from 6-7:30 pm outdoors in the MMAM gardens. The beloved summer concert series returns with its signature blend of live outdoor performances, local artisan showcases, and culinary partnerships, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Mississippi River.
The Mississippi Sippin’ concert series is free and open to all ages. Visitors will enjoy handcrafted, wood-fired pizzas from Muddled Thyme, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and available for purchase from 5-8 p.m. Additionally, beverages will be available for purchase. The event will also feature a pop-up trunk show from Rachel Long Pauli of Gourdgeous Jewelry, showcasing handmade jewelry crafted from homegrown and dried gourds. In addition to the outdoor festivities, the MMAM galleries will be open until 8 p.m., allowing visitors to explore 20,000 square feet of great art inspired by water in climate-controlled comfort.
Mississippi Sippin’ is designed as an immersive experience celebrating the sights, sounds, and creative spirit of the Driftless Region. The series invites attendees to unwind while experiencing the many ways water inspires art, from live music and a handcrafted culinary experience to historic works of art within the museum. Gallery admission applies for those wishing to explore the museum’s collections, though MMAM Members and students receive free entry. All students receive complimentary gallery admission every Thursday as part of MMAM’s Free Student Thursdays program.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, Mississippi Sippin’ will be moved inside the museum’s atrium, ensuring the celebration continues regardless of conditions. From music and food to art and community connection, the series promises perfect summer evenings where the river, creativity, and community flow together.
MMAM will host the two more Mississippi Sippin’ concerts this summer. Texas Toast will perform live in the MMAM gardens on July 24, and on August 28, Steam Machine will round out the 2025 Mississippi Sippin’ summer series. Presented by the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Mississippi Sippin’ is presented in partnership with Visit Winona and the Winona Post.
