The public is invited to meet local author Terri Karsten at the monthly author event at Paperbacks and Pieces (429 Mankato Avenue, Winona, Minnesota 55987), on Saturday, September 12, between 10 am and 2 pm.
Karsten’s newest book, A Player’s Exit, is the second book in her Tucker’s Crossing Mystery series, set in a tavern in 1764 in Pennsylvania. When an actor from a traveling theater troupe is found dead in the tavern stable, Miles Tucker, town constable, and Penelope Corbitt, tavern cook, scramble to discover the killer before the tavern is ruined or anyone else gets hurt.
Reviewers have said:
“This is one mystery made more twisty by the unreliability and unpredictability of the troupe. Karsten has woven a treat of a tale.” ~Julie Holmes, author of Murder in Plane Sight
“From the clatter of the kitchen to the whispers of scandal among traveling players, this is a mystery that satisfies on every level. Karsten delivers a story as richly layered as the dishes her heroine prepares.” ~Anna Dalhaimer Bartkowski, author of the Rosalind Schmidt Genealogical Mystery Series
“A totally involving, fast-paced historical mystery. Skullduggery begins with the arrival of an acting troupe at the inn run by beaus Miles Tucker and Penelope Corbitt. … Highly recommended novel.” ~ Christine DeSmet, mystery author and writing coach.
