Winona Art Walk - 2015
The 15th annual Winona Art Walk (formerly Christmas Art Walk) will be held 10am – 4pm, Saturday, November 21 again the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Here’s a chance to support the local economy and over 30 regional artists who make glass, jewelry, paintings, ceramics, carvings, wood, textiles, photography, baskets, Christmas ornaments and more.
Teresa Schumaker Studio, 676 W. 5th St, with stoneware pottery will host three other artists: Matt Feuerhelm, batik scarves, Dave Johnson, woodworking and Joni Lynch, pocket mittens; and Some Sum Studio, 168 E 3rd St, will show art work by Aaron Rykhus, painting; Adrian Horsfall, prints; and Andrew Chapman, pen & ink drawing plus Some Sum will also feature live music.
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM), 800 Riverview Dr., will again be a part of the Art Walk. Admission fees apply to MMAM galleries. Visitors can enjoy one of the best collections of art in the Upper Midwest including masterpieces by Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and many others. New this year Regan Photography, 663 Grand St. joins us with the outstanding photography of owner Ron Regan.
Island City Gallery, 119 E. 3rd St, where artist-owners Maryann & Rick Frietsche with lovely gemstone & silver jewelry and Julie Johnston with beautiful paintings and other artists represented for the day include: Toni Ambrosen, Linda Sue Eastman, Robert Keiper, Karen Linde, Anne Matthews, Beth George, Lisa Truax, Kathie Mayo and Lyon Smith.
Visit Yarnology in their downtown location at 65 E. 3rd St. Owners Gaby Peterson and Kelly Momsen will feature gorgeous yarns from around the world, classes for beginners and improvers, and a welcoming place to sit and create!
For the fifth year a group of artists who often open their studios will be set up a Gallery for a Day at the Guildhall, Wesley United Methodist Church at Main & Broadway. Artists include the following: Bernadette Mahfood,Hotflash Designs will be showing decorative glass tiles as well as her elegant glass bead and fiber jewelry. See her fun new earring designs. Walken Ratajczyk will have his latest kilnformed glass work available for sale. Mary Singer will show her latest paintings as well as Julia Crozier with newest art work, and Gary Flynn with his wood sculptures. Joining us new this year Sue Pariseau will show her functional pottery, Jean Murray, quilt designs and Anna Loney her metalsmithing.
