SHIFT~ performance salon: Wayfind-ing (for one) with Sharon Mansur

SHIFT~ a performance salon, in partnership with The Cedar Tree Project presents: “ Wayfind-ing (for one),” a solo dance performance with Winona based artist Sharon Mansur by the Mississippi River on Saturday, June 27 at 4:00pm at Prairie Island Campground, 1120 Prairie Island Road, Winona, on Dakota homelands. SHIFT~ is an informal and intimate interdisciplinary experimental series that has invited artists to collaborate and engage audiences in creative conversations since 2016.
This month’s salon features Lebanese American artist Sharon Mansur embodying elements from the “Wayfinding” project co-created since 2022 with Arab American choreographer and filmmaker Meryl Zaytoun Murman (merylmurman.me), including Meryl’s 2024 McKnight International Choreographer Residency at Prairie Island Campground.

Sharon Mansur is a Winona based dance and interdisciplinary artist, educator, facilitator, therapeutic bodyworker, and community engager. Her artistic practice is rooted in relationships with other creatives and daily life. Ongoing themes include: her Arab heritage, deep dialogues among human and environmental bodies, shapeshifting aspects of identity, and the beauty of in between spaces. Sharon curates the SHIFT~ salon series and directs The Cedar Tree Project, a creative platform for Arab/SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African) contemporary art and artists. www.cedartreeproject.com
