The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) continues its Mississippi Sippin’ summer concert series on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a live performance by Texas Toast. This free outdoor event takes place in the museum’s riverside gardens, with live music scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and a celebration of local food, art, and summer creativity throughout the evening.

Known as a psychedelic country band, Texas Toast features touring musicians from Jaybone Bell and Restless Light, My Grandma’s Cardigan, The People Brothers Band, Barbaro, and Sleeping Jesus who have all made their home in beautiful Winona, MN. The evening will also feature a trunk show by ceramic artist Lisa Truax, whose sculptural and functional pieces are inspired by natural forms and the Driftless landscape.

Guests will enjoy food for purchase from Muddled Thyme and Blooming Grounds, as well as a selection of beverages for sale throughout the event. Museum galleries will remain open until 8 p.m., allowing attendees to explore 20,000 square feet of exhibitions focused on art inspired by water.

Mississippi Sippin’ is designed as an immersive experience that reflects the sights, sounds, and creative spirit of the Driftless Region. In addition to celebrating regional talent, the series creates opportunities for meaningful community gathering and connection through music, visual art, and locally crafted food. Admission to the outdoor concert is free and open to all ages.

Admission applies for the galleries and is $10 for adults, but free for MMAM Members and students. As part of MMAM’s Free Student Thursdays, students of all ages receive complimentary gallery entry every Thursday.

The final Mississippi Sippin’ concert of the 2025 series will feature Steam Machine on August 28. Mississippi Sippin’ is presented by the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in partnership with Visit Winona and the Winona Post.

For more information on Mississippi Sippin’, upcoming events, or museum membership, visit mmam.org or call 507-474-6626. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the museum’s atrium, ensuring the event goes on regardless of conditions.

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is a nonprofit art museum located in Winona, Minnesota, on the banks of the Mississippi River. With the mission to create meaningful art experiences that explore our relationship with water, and the vision to spark wonder and create a more compassionate and connected world for all, MMAM boasts six galleries, an educational and events space, and a destination retail shop on its seven-acre riverside campus. It is through this surprising diversity that MMAM is not only describing what marine art is, but pushing the boundaries of what marine art can be.
