The Summer Social will also feature live music by Flutistry, River City String Quartet, Rossini Quartet, Wabasha Street Trio, and fiddle and bass duets by Betsy Neil and Michael Van Ryn. Artwork by area artists Julia Crozier, Julie Johnston, and Jean Lukens will be on display and available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Symphony. Tickets are $30.00 in advance or $35.00 at the door. Hors d’oeuvres and one glass of wine are included in the ticket price; additional glasses of wine will be available for purchase. Advance tickets are available at Hardt’s Music & Audio (115 East Third Street, Winona), at Elmaro Vineyard, or online at www.winonasymphony.org.

Tickets for the Symphony’s upcoming concert season will also be available at the Summer Social. The 2018-2019 season entitled From Minnesota with Love includes a fall concert, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 and a spring concert, Saturday, March 30, 2019 with music by Minnesota and American composers as well as classical favorites by Claude Debussy and W.A. Mozart. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., with a pre-concert talk beginning at 7:00 p.m. Concerts will be held in the Harriet Johnson Auditorium in Somsen Hall on the Winona State University campus.

As part of the Symphony’s mission to share live classical music with the youth of Winona, the season also includes a free Children’s Concert for area schoolchildren, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, featuring Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Additionally, for the fall and spring concerts, the Symphony offers free admission to high school students with a student I.D., and elementary and middle school students are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
