Robert Long, a variety of works

Opening Reception:
Friday | January 3 | 5:30-7:30pm
Blue Heron Coffeehouse

Join artist Robert Long for the opening reception for his new exhibit at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse. Robert is relatively new to Winona, so we hope you will take this opportunity to meet and welcome him into our arts community. This exhibit will be open during Blue Heron Coffeehouse hours through February.

Much of Robert’s work reflects time spent in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico—summers as a child and recent years after retiring. His view of painting can be summarized as follows: “My work comes both from a desire to capture what I see as well as to gain a mastery of color, drawing and brush effect.  I have always been drawn to the emotional strength of paintings; how great, painted works can inspire and enthrall the viewer. The variables to create a painting are infinite. Learning to control them to achieve an appealing and compelling work is an extreme challenge.”
