Dr. Eric Brisson, music professor at Winona State University, will present a piano concert at the Old Main Cultural Center in Galesville, Sunday, February 25 at 2:30 pm. The repertoire will feature music from various eras, including works by Mozart and Brahms. Old Main is becoming known as one of the finest regional venues to hear music on its Steinway grand piano because of the intimate space in the stone building. Dr. Brisson will present his concert as a benefit to keep the venue available for performances in the unique space it offers.

The event will include an opportunity to view works of glass iconography—the folk art of painting sacred images on the reverse of glass plates developed in Transylvania (formerly Hungary, now Romania) during the 18th and 19th centuries, which have been preserved by a Galesville family. These paintings originally hung on the eastern wall in the homes of peasant families to illustrate their conviction that they were also members of God’s household.

Refreshments will be served at intermission. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for people in high school and younger.

A sign at W Gale Ave. (Hwy T) and 12th St. points south to Old Main at 20869 College Ave.
