Sandbar Storytelling Festival Presents Irish Stories with Terry Visger at Cafe Congo

Sunday | March 15 | 2 PM
Café Congo | First Congregational Church (161 W. Broadway)
Sandbar Storytelling Festival invites the public to an afternoon of Irish Stories on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 pm as part of the Cafe Congo series.
Right in time for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, Sandbar Storytelling Festival welcomes Terry Visger, offering tall tales and folklore from the Emerald Isle. There are no tickets sold for this event, but a free-will donation will be taken at the door to support Sandbar Storytelling Festival’s 2026 season. A reception will follow the event.
An educator and storyteller, Visger has told stories all her life, although her mom called it lying. She has been a professional storyteller since 2000 and tells tales to all ages from preschoolers to adults. She presents workshops on using storytelling as a tool for teachers, businesses and organizations. Terry has been a member of the La Crosse Storytelling Festival steering committee since its inception and is currently on the board of two storytelling organizations.
Sandbar Storytelling Festival presents storytelling performances which celebrate and preserve the power and pleasure of our varied cultural traditions and human experiences and to promote the art of storytelling for all ages. The 2026 festival will be held October 7-11.
Café Congo is located at the First Congregational Church (161 W. Broadway) and, with the generosity of its audiences, has helped to contribute over $70,000 toward good causes over the past 10 years. The venue is ADA accessible at the canopied Johnson Street entrance.
