“Where do we even begin?” It’s the sincere—and overwhelming—question that kicks off nearly every conversation about disability access in the arts. In this lively, practical session hosted by the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, accessibility consultant Scott Artley shares concrete, low-cost strategies for making meaningful progress right now, without needing a massive budget or a dedicated accessibility department. Drawing on real consulting work with arts organizations and artists across the country, Scott walks through how to identify the most impactful changes, spot common barriers, and build the internal momentum to move from one-off fixes toward something sustainable. Leave with practical ideas you can try immediately—even with limited time, staff, budget, or knowledge about disability. This workshop is appropriate for beginners or folks ready to expand their accessibility toolkit.
