Opening Reception | Sunday, August 16
1 PM – 4 PM

The Winona Arts Center (228 E 5th St) is excited to present the exhibition “In Stitches,” a two-woman show by MaryLee Eischen and Kim Hammer, August 16 through September 20, 2026, with an opening reception on Sunday, August 16, 1 PM – 4 PM at the Winona Arts Center.

In Stitches is the first art gallery exhibition of the individual and collaborative works of MaryLee Eischen and Kim Hammer. MaryLee’s art quilts explore color and design with machine stitching; Kim Hammer incorporates vintage textiles and hand-stitching on thrifted apparel.
Additionally, their long-time friendship is demonstrated in their collaboration on 10 healing art quilts. Two dear friends, MaryLee Eischen and Kim Hammer, celebrate women’s work, the fine art of hand stitching on fabric with needle and sewing machine. Individually and collaboratively, this exhibition features beauty for home and body.

August 16 is the fifth Sunday of the Seven Sundays series at WAC, with a live performance from 2:30 – 4 PM, by a trio from the Driftless Urban Orchestra featuring Tara Kelly, flute; Rachael Ryan Dahlgren, cello; and Meredith Mihm, piano, as well as special guest, Heidi Bryant, flute.
