Winona Brass Band announces 2026-27 Season

November 8, 2026 | December 12, 2026 | April 11, 2027

Founded 1993, the Winona Brass Band is a British style traditional brass band unique in our region. With only brass and percussion, the sound has been described as rich, vibrant, and organ-like. The band is made up of cornets, flugelhorn, alto horns (like concert band French horns), trombones, baritones, euphoniums, tubas and percussion – 30 players in all.

The Winona Brass Band Fall Concert is scheduled for Sunday November 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM, in the Winona Middle School Auditorium. This performance highlights music from many of the countries where brass bands perform. There are more than 3,000 British-style brass bands in dozens of global locations including Australia, Africa and Asia (especially Japan), throughout continental Europe, the United Kingdom and the USA. Save the date for this exciting season debut concert!

The December 12th holiday performance will be held at Central Lutheran Church (259 W. Wabasha St.. – Winona), rounding out a full morning of festivities including a craft sale, Scandinavian-based bake sale and soup/sandwich lunch. Come early for the sales, join us for the 11 AM concert in the beautiful acoustics of church sanctuary, and stay for a catered soup and sandwich lunch.

Wrapping up the season will be a festive spring concert on April 11, 2027, at 3:00 pm at the Winona Middle School Harold Edstrom Auditorium where you find easy parking and venue access. The performance will highlight a variety of traditional brass band marches and concert pieces by world famous composers.

All concerts are family-friendly and free, with free-will donations always gratefully accepted at the door. We appreciate our audience support and the many donors who continue to support this volunteer ensemble.
